Mall of Asia weekend !

My cousin visited from Davao and the first place that I thought of bringing her was Mall of Asia.  Why ? Aside from being the largest mall in the Philippines, it has everything we needed and wanted - Time zone for the kids , nice resto's, snack shops, a bowling center , skating rink - everything !  But what we really wanted to see was the big EYE ferris wheel and be able to walk around near the bay.

SM central business park 1, island A, Bay City, Pasay City

What we tried :

Magnum ice cream from Selecta.  This is new and it really tastes yummy.  It's rich vanilla coated with Belgian chocolate.  Or you could opt for the chocolate truffle which is chocolate in chocolate. 

Pancit ng taga Malabon.  It's rice noodle with shrimp and fish sauce.  Yummy ! 
Tip :  Try the small bilao for a group of 5 to 6.  It's worth the price.

Time Zone.  My kids just love this place and they got to use their VIP certificates (a gift from my friend).

There was even a musical band that performed during that day which made me feel like we were in a fiesta !

You can go to the Nido Science Discovery Center which has a planetarium.  Fun learning for the kids !

Solenad 2 in Sta Rosa !

One of the benefits of working in Sta Rosa, Laguna is that you can get to have lunch in the newest place - Solenad.   This week  we tried Recipes at Solenad 2!. 
Solenad 2 is the newest retail place in the south developed by the Ayala group.  It has shops, restos and a grocery place.  If you have expats or tourists with you - this place won't let you down.  You can choose either of the two Solenad's and believe me , it would be a gastronomic feast !

Recipes restaurant was not our first choice by the way,  but we did not get frustrated.  In fact, we loved the food !  It's filipino food with a twist - a good twist !

What we tried at Recipes :
  Gising- gising - you should try this.  It's delicious
  Garlic chicken with rice - the chicken was crunchy and the sauce was no less yummy
  Bangus steak with rice - also delish !

How to get there :

From SLEX, turn right at Sta Rosa exit, drive on till you pass Paseo de Sta Rose and Solenad.  Solenad 2 is just pass these on your left.
