Wakeboarding in Nuvali !

Today's bonding with the family included a roadtrip down South.  We were supposed to go to Tagaytay but Sta. Rosa beckoned us, specifically- Nuvali !  What I like about Nuvali is that it has always something new to offer. Last time we were there, we headed for the Koi fish feeding and the kids enjoyed that.  Now , there is something new - wakeboarding !

Wakeboarding is a sport that combines water skiing and surfing.  But instead of being pulled by a boat, this wakeboarding is pulled by a  cable.

From a distance, it really looks like fun.  There was even a kid joining. My son wanted to join but I feel he needs proper training before he could join in.

When we arrived, it was raining , but the people didn't seem to mind it.  The atmosphere was really nice. Everybody was putting on their gears, some are just sitting and watching the wakeboarders. People kept coming despite the rain.

Tips:
For further info, you could visit their website at http://republ1cwakepark.com/  .
There is a snack bar so you don't have to worry about getting hungry after the ride.

The road leading to Republic wakeboarding.  No need to worry going there. There are sign boards.

Looks like fun !

For lunch, my family opted to go to Ryuma restaurant. Then off to Solenad 2  (please see my other blogs about these).

Enjoy !

Manang's Chicken weekend !

One last hurrah of the kids before going back to school tomorrow.  They requested to eat at Manang's chicken.  When asked why -"we want to try it", they said.  Hhmm, or did they just want to get out of the house where they got stuck because of the rainy weather?  Anyhow, we did go to have dinner there tonight.

The first time I saw Manang's Chicken was in Mercato Centrale in Taguig.  People were lining up to try their soy garlic chicken.  Soy and garlic are two of my favorite sauces and spice so I was really getting the best of both. Their chicken came with a choice of original, mild spicy or very spicy.  We opted for the original and the mild and it did not disappoint us.

The chicken is not devoid of the sauce. In fact, my kids took the sauce for the rice ")
The taste is sweet, salty, spicy and garlicky.  It's a combination that plays in your mouth.  In fact, you don't know which one will linger longer.

Above is how I saw them at Mercato Centrale.

They now have a wide variety of menu item such as spaghetti, pancit, liempo, fish , aside from the famous chicken

This is the 6 piece wing in mild spicy sauce and rice.  The soy darkens the chicken.  The white dots that you see are sesame seeds.

This is 6 pcs Chicken Barkada cut.  As always, we opted for leg and thigh.

We also tried this dessert called Velvet.  Bottom layer is a chocolate cake topped with vanilla ice cream which is topped with hot fudge and choco bites.  But I did not enjoy it as much as I would've enjoyed a simple hot fudge sundae.  I don't like cake in ice creams.

Would I come back ? Yes ! to savor my favorite soy garlic.

Enjoy !

Bubba Gump weekend !

My dear cousin invited us to her granddaughter' 1st year birthday at Bubba Gump at Greenbelt.  I haven't been to this part of Makati for a long time simpy because we already have Alabang Town Center.  But I soon realized that I miss the place.  The garden setting in between Greenbelt 3 and 5 are still very inviting for a stroll.  I miss hearing the songs of the choir at Greenbelt chapel.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Company opened in 1996 at Monterey California  and shortly found its way in the Philippines.  Their specialty includes shrimp dishes , of course, pasta and skewers to say the least.  But they also have other dishes which they aptly call :   Forrest's favorite and Bubba's shrimp specials.

What we had :

The party menu included Clam chowder , rice, "Of course we have Scampi" pasta and fish.
Since it's a children's party, they also served spaghetti , cookies and ice cream.

Location :

Unit 219, Level 2 Greenbelt 3
Makati City

Just love this Old fashioned New England Clam chowder soup.  Very good specially during this rainy season

My plate with the rice, Scampi Linguine, fish and cookies.  My kids love the pasta and the fish.  "So yummy", they said.  They went for seconds !

A typical table at Bubba Gump.  I like it.  Makes me feel relaxed.  I especially like the table tennis racket where they put their day's specials.

The party layout .  Lots of cookies, cupcakes and loot bags.  The color is also very nice and makes someone feel like a princess for a day.

The staff is very accommodating and welcoming.  I also like their greeting to the customers.

So next time you're in Makati, try Bubba Gump and they won't let you down !

Enjoy !
