Kanin Club!

We have a visitor from Korea today and we wanted to treat him to Filipino food.  There were 2 restaurants in our minds but we went for Kanin Club at Paseo de Sta Rosa.  Lunch here is still packing despite the varied restaurants around Nuvali and Solenad so we went early (before 12nn).

We ordered Crispy Pata, Sinigang sa Miso ng Salmon Belly, Sigarilyas Express and Sizzling Squid.
We ordered rice , of course, and we opted to go the Loaded Fried Rice.  Yum !

What I like about the place is their layout, setting and interior design.  It's very cozy and very filipiniana.  Food was served fast which we needed since we had only on hour for our lunch and it's back to the grind.

Tips :
Budget : There were four of us and our meal costs us about Php1,500.
Location : From SLEX, exit Sta Rosa exit and go straight to Paseo de Sta Rosa on the left side.

My Korean  friend loved the rice and the sinigang.  I loved the crispy pata and the loaded rice.   The rice was filled with chorizo, egg, ham , green peas and pork.

The sinigang really takes the word.  I like how much sour it is and the salmon smells fresh.  I plan to cook this this weekend for my family.

Crispy Pata is a Filipino favorite and we did not get disappointed on this one.  The size as well fits 4~5 persons.  The pata skin has the right crunch.

I like the sizzling squid because of the sauce.  It compares with what I order at Paseo palengke (but this would be another blog).

You don't have to go to Sta Rosa to eat at  Kanin Club since they already have branches in Alabang, Makati  and Quezon City.  But still, I think this is the best branch.

Enjoy !

Money Summit and Wealth Expo 2012!

This weekend my hubby and I went to another kind of weekend experience.  Actually, we have been attending seminars like this (investment learnings) for the past year.  It's  our way of learning how we would invest our funds for our present and for our future retirement.

Money Summit and Wealth expo 2012 was held at SMX convention center at Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City. It featured different speakers of various expertise.  We were only able to attend Day 2 and it was well worth it.

The topics ranged from stock markets, real property investments to forex trading.  The conference aims to equip the attendees with the basic knowledge of where to invest by laying down different options.  It's giving the attendees enough push to finally start in order to build their wealth and reach their dreams.

Two words to describe the speakers : passion and perseverance.  It didn't matter their expert field, all of them had this contagious passion for what they believe in and the perseverance to pursue their dreams.

Tips : Learning Curve Inc. is the organizer of this event and has many seminars in store for the year regarding handling finances. cashflow 101 workshop, E-commerce etc.  You can visit their website for more details.

Cliffhouse Tagaytay!

I must admit Tagaytay is a favorite place and it's the nearest getaway from Manila.  This time, am with my colleagues.  After subjecting ourselves to a grueling 4 hours of non-stop meetings, we decided to unwind up the hills.
Weather was perfect.  The fog set in as we cruised up to our destination.  We turned off the aircon and just enjoyed the cool breeze.  Perfect getaway !

Cliff House is just to the right of the rotonda.  Careful not to miss the signage.  It is just passed Antonio's on the left side.  The place offers an ambiance like you were in the US.  Restaurants there include Buon Giorno,  The Fire Lake , Cafe Breton among others.

We went for Buon Giorno .  We wanted to enjoy the weather so we opted to go for al fresco dining.
By the way, if you're decided to go, bring a jacket!

My friends enjoying the cool breeze

The Pumpkin soup and Putanesca soup.  I like the Pumpkin soup better
The Lamp Chops
Ribeye Steak.  Love this one !
Chicken with ham and pasta.  They call it differently but I forget. :(
After dinner, we decided to head on over to Cafe Breton to try their famous La Pinay crepe that's filled with chocolate and mango.  YUM !

The La Pinay/  Best enjoyed with a cup of freshly brewed coffee!
My colleague and the chocolate milkshake
Enjoy !
